HR Legal Assistant (full-time)

Are you passionate about advancing your HR career within a dynamic legal services environment? Monsellier Law is seeking a full-time, permanent HR Legal Assistant to support our small team. You’ll help deliver HR and Legal solutions across various industries and contribute to designing our new online client portal and help establish a consistent online presence. 

About Us: 
Monsellier Law is a family-owned consultancy located on Auckland’s North Shore in Albany. For the past 10 years, we have been delivering expert employment law and HR advice to a diverse range of clients across New Zealand. As our caseload and client base continue to grow, we are expanding our team and seeking a dedicated HR resource to help support our growth and enhance our services. 

The Role: 
As this is a new role, you will have the chance to develop innovative systems from the ground up. You will be supported by a highly skilled team and have the opportunity to contribute to strategic discussions from the very beginning. You’ll assist with HR and legal support for our clients and contribute creatively to our online client portal and overall online presence. No need to be an expert in employment law yet—we are happy to provide training! 

Who We’re Looking For:   
We are ideally seeking an HR Advisor with at least 2 years of proven experience in a similar role. Business development skills are an advantage. The ideal candidate will: 

  • Preferably be HRNZ or CIPD (UK) certified, and/or have a bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Management, or Psychology. 
  • Good sound knowledge of HR practices and ideally Employment Law. 
  • Relationship-focused and skilled in developing long-term client connections. 
  • Able to provide pragmatic and friendly advice.  
  • Eager to contribute to a growing team and business developing initiatives  
  • A love for design – experience in Photoshop or Canva is a big plus! 

This would suit someone who thrives in a busy environment, has excellent organisation skills, likes to go above and beyond to ensure clients get what they need with accuracy and efficiency and enjoys working in a friendly team setting as well as autonomously.
